Advice and answers from the Restaurantology Team

Restaurantology’s Technographic Catalog represents the range of technology categories and vendors that the platform actively monitors and verifies across multi-unit Concepts and Companies.

What the catalog includes

The catalog covers a broad spectrum of restaurant technologies, including but not limited to:

  • Point of Sale (POS) systems
  • Online ordering and delivery platforms
  • Loyalty and rewards programs
  • Reservation and waitlist systems
  • Marketing and customer engagement tools
  • Website builders and content management systems
  • Payment processors and gateways
  • Menu management and digital menu platforms

[!NOTE]
As of Spring 2025, Restaurantology’s detection capabilities now include module-level insights, identifying not only vendor presence but specific modules or services in use (e.g., Popmenu’s website builder vs. Popmenu’s marketing suite). Early-stage phone-based POS detections are also available as a beta feature for select clients.

Why we don’t publish a full category list

To protect the integrity of Restaurantology’s proprietary detection methodologies and prevent competitive replication, the full Technographic Catalog—including category definitions and vendor lists—is not publicly disclosed. Qualified clients may request tailored category overviews as part of their subscription or data partnership.

Detection methodology reminder

Technographic insights are verified through public website analysis and disambiguation processes, as detailed in Technographic insights →.

[!TIP]
Not all technology usage is publicly disclosed. Detection data reflects verified findings but may lag behind real-world adoption changes, especially for smaller or less web-active Concepts.
